Google Assistant Routine – Automatically Enable Sunrise Alarm (No Manual Step)

Hello,

I use an evening routine on my Nest Hub.

In this routine, the Assistant asks:

➡️ “What time do you want to wake up?”

I reply (e.g., “5 a.m.”), and the alarm is successfully created.

❗ THE PROBLEM:

The sunrise alarm (gradual screen and light increase) is NOT enabled automatically.

I have to manually open the alarm on the Nest Hub screen and toggle on the sunrise option.

I want to automate this step — I don’t want to do it manually every night.

🚫 Please DO NOT suggest:

Factory reset (already done — this is NOT the issue)
How to create or edit a routine (I already use several, both personal and household)
How to manually enable the sunrise alarm (I already do that — I want to automate it)

✅ This is NOT related to the routine type.

It happens with both PERSONAL and HOUSEHOLD routines.

❓ MY QUESTION:

How can I make sure the sunrise alarm is enabled automatically when an alarm is created via a routine?

If it’s not possible currently, can someone confirm whether this is:

a CURRENT LIMITATION
or a KNOWN BUG?

Thanks for reaching out to the community! I understand you want to create an alarm that automatically enables the sunrise alarm when a routine is active. However, as you've found, you currently have to manually open the alarm on your Nest Hub screen to enable it. I appreciate that you've already tried troubleshooting steps like a factory reset and manually activating the alarm.

What you're trying to do is currently a limitation of the devices, and this feature isn't available. Because of this, I'd like to share a feedback form where you can submit your ideas about this feature, which will help us improve our devices.
