Hi BalsamBob,

Thank you for your prompt reply. I appreciate all the detailed information.

Based on your answers, please try the following steps on your Nest Hub:

Calibrate your sleep spot so your Nest Hub can recognize where you sleep. Here are the steps:

From the bottom of your display, swipe up.

Tap Settings and then make sure Motion Sense is on.

Then tap Sleep Sensing to make sure Sleep Sensing is on, and then calibrate the device.

Follow the on-screen instructions on your display.

Additionally, please unlink your smart lights from your Nest Hub, then link it again. Here are the steps:

Open the Google Home app.

Tap Favorites or Device.

Then tap and hold your Nest Hub.

At the top right, tap the Settings icon, then remove your Nest Hub.

Please let me know how it goes.

Regards,

I like to listen to a Sirius XM channel while gettting ready for bed and then continue listening for a while after I get into bed. When I get in bed, I tell Google to turn off the lamp - but I don't say anything about the music being played. Frequently, the music will stop for a minute or 2 and then start playing again - and it continues this way until I finally give up and tell it to stop. This only seems to happen after I turn off the lights - I have never noticed it happen when the lights are one. I've tried turning off Motion Sense thinking it could be the issue - but the problem continues. Does anyone have thoughts on what could be going on and how to fix it?

Hi BalsamBob,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I understand you're experiencing trouble with your Nest Hub; specifically, when you turn off the lights, your Sirius XM radio stops for a minute or two and then starts to play again. I appreciate all your troubleshooting efforts in this situation. Let's work together to find a solution.

To further assist, please answer the following questions:

What type of Nest Hub do you have?

Do you have any scheduled routine?

When did the situation start?

Did you restart your Nest Hub?

Please keep me posted on your findings.

Regards,

Hello ByronP and thank you for responding! The Google Nest is Model: GUIK2 & the other number on the back is: 19151J3DA3M2GU. It does not have any scheduled routines but I use it as an alarm clock by telling it to set a wake up time (I set it just before going to bed) - but I normally do that just 2 nights a week. And I tell it to turn the bedroom lamp on or off. I get in bed and tell it to turn off the lamp - shortly after that the music usually stops playing. I have tried turning the lamp off manually but the same problem happens. I think I have always told it to turn the lamp ON - have not tried doing that manually. This has been going on for at least 3 months now - probably longer. The Nest Hub has been restarted (by unplugging it) several times since this started. Any advice will be appreciated!

Hello ByronP. I didn't see your reply until today - however - the past 2 nights the Hub has worked just fine with playing music. No pauses or anything. I think this is the first time in months it has done that. I don't know if the Google folks sent out an update or what may have happened. I have not made any of the changes you suggested and I will not do anything unless it acts up again. If the problem does come back, I'll try your suggestions. Thanks so much for your help with this!

Hello ByronP. The problem started up again so I followed part of your suggestions. I do not use sleep sensing and do not want to use it so I did not add that. I did remove the Hub Display from Google Home and added it back again (I thought it would delete it completely. I tried several times to add it and nothing would happen. I eventually found it was still listed in the Google Home app & was simply waiting for me to officially connect it.) It is connected again now and I'll have to see what happens tonight.

Music playing worked fine last night. I may need a couple more days to confirm but it appears that unlinking the Hub Display and then linking it again may have solved the problem. Thanks for your help with this!
