Turn on bedroom light command doesn't work

I can't tell how many times Google did not hear my commands well. I've to repeat and slow down several times so that it can follow.

Maybe you need shorter commands like one word so there's no chance for a misunderstanding.

"Hey Google, Light" for on and

"Hey Google" Light for off with a simple automation...

I have many rooms and different types of devices. It is impossible to memorize all these names if i don't make it specific.

That's the beauty of Google and this automation...you don't have to.

All my Televisions are named "Television", all my lights are named "bulb" (to stop conflicts of using "light"), but the command is still "Hey Google, Light" or "Lights" or I even tried "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" (from the movie Mary Poppins) as a joke and Google still turned on that light.

My devices are turned on by its description instead of its unique name.

But if you want to turn a Television on in a different Room I would say "Turn on Television in Bedroom"

I don't have much hope for my Google. Let me try to do something and see how and works.

Thanks for posting in the community! I understand that you're having trouble with the 'turn on bedroom light' command, and you have to repeat it and speak slowly several times for it to work. No worries, help is here!

To better assist you, I'd like to ask for some more information:

Have you already tried the steps provided by @SmartHomeH-TAGS? If so, did the issue persist?
Which device are you using for voice control of your lights?
Does this happen with every single voice command or only some of them?
Is there often a lot of background noise when you're giving the commands?

In the meantime, you can try adjusting the sensitivity for the Google Assistant. For instructions, please refer to this article: Adjust how sensitive Google Assistant is to “Hey Google”.
