Can't change Assistant's Voice

Somehow the voice I chose for my Assistant was changed to Oxalis and now I can't change it to any other voice. When I change the voice in the settings and then exit the menu, it changes back. I've tried erasing the storage and cache, which allows me to set up Assistant as though I'm using it for the first time, but my voice selection doesn't stick. I've tried making the change from my phone and Pixel tablet, and I've tried doing the steps simultaneously on both devices so one doesn't override the other. I really hate this voice, so I'd like to change it.

Yeah I've had the same issue at my elderly mothers house. Her assistant has changed to some monotone depressed American male.

Changing seeing in home app does nothing not even changing the language to American to open up the other options. Nothing sticks.

I've even done the mute button reset thing to do a hard reset. After the hard reset it came back with the depressed American.

Nothing works.... 🙁

What do you mean "this option is not available"? It appears there are several voice options available and I had a different one until recently. It's just now when I try to change the voice, it keeps reverting to a voice I don't want.

Probably won't work for you, but I was trying to change the Gemini voice for my Google Home devices by asking assistant to "Open Assistant Settings", and the voice option would ALWAYS revert and never stick. But if I opened the Home app, clicked my profile icon in the top right corner, clicked "Home Settings", then scrolled down to "Gemini for Home voice assistant", then clicked "Voice Selection" (and picked a new voice), it finally changed it on my devices. That's probably what you were already trying, but if not, maybe that'll switch it for you. Best of luck!

Yeah we don't have that option here in UK. Still shows Google assistant voice settings.

I'm putting it down to this transitional period of bringing Gemini to home services etc.

Pain in the butt... But it's not a deal breaker. Just kinda annoying lol.
