I Hate Google Gemini on my Google Home Speakers! it’s total trash.

I hate Gemini for my Google Home speakers. it does not do half the things I ask you to do. It always gets things wrong. It doesn’t work with most of my smart devices. Google was foolish as hell for releasing this before it was ready to be released.

I’ve been using Google for everything for the past 10 years of my life. Everything in my house operates on Google and this week I’m throwing it all away my TV which Google is the operating system, throwing it away getting a Roku. Throwing all my speakers away, buying Alexa.

they should’ve never made us switched over from Assistant to Gemini before it was ready to be rolled out.

it gives me a **bleep**ing paragraph of a statement when I ask you a simple question. I don’t need all that it’s total garbage and it doesn’t understand me half the time it’ll stop my television when I ask what time it is. It doesn’t listen it’s stupid. It’s not ready to be rolled out. I’m so angry with Google. I’ve been so happy with Google for so long. You’re about to lose a lot of money because of what you’ve done your products are trash now you should’ve waited till your AI was ready, but no, you had to rush

Gemini has completely destroyed our Home experience. Things like simply turning on a lamp fail constantly. The voices are like something out of a robot horror movie. Google didn't even have the sense to transition the old voices that we've become used to for the past 9 friggin years.

I built a Home Assistant system but it's not for me. Also, considering Alexa but don't want to get stuck with another AI disaster. What does Amazon call it, Rufus.

I get AI is all the rage. But Gemini is NOT ready for home automation or smart things. It just isn't. It's complete trash.

Confirm if the speaker or display recognized the question correctly by using the command 'Repeat the question.' This will prompt the device to repeat the last question it heard.
Check if the language settings in the Google Home app are correct. Refer to this article for guidance: Change the language of Google Assistant.
Check the quality of your "My Activity" audio recording by following the steps below:

Open the Google Home app.
At the top right, tap your Profile picture or Initial.
Tap Home settings.
Under "Home features," tap Privacy.
Select Home history. This will open a list of your recent voice commands.
Identify the most recent command that resulted in an incorrect or failed response.
Tap Details beneath the Assistant Query to view the recording details.
Tap Play on the query card to hear exactly what the speaker or display heard when the issue occurred.

Gemini on Google home has been a complete disaster for me as well. It never can activate my hue lights correctly, "hey google, activate relax in bedroom" sends the lights into a crazy spree of changing rapidly into every scene over and over that you can't stop.

You have to say "hey google, stop" while the alarm is going off instead of just being able to say "stop,";

It no longer allows chained commands as you could with assistant: "hey google, turn on lights, turn on kitchen lights." Now it's "hey google, turn on lights," "hey google, turn on kitchen lights." And apparently there's no way to go back to assistant.

Thank you for your response but as you probably already know, this has nothing to do with my system. I already tried the steps you cited and many more months ago. I am a senior systems engineer and built a Home Assistant system. I mattered several devices into Google home. They now work flawlessly. Unfortunately, many of the features especially in Nest Thermostats are missing. So I'm looking for another solution.

The issue is Gemini as is evidenced by thousands of threads from angry and unhappy customers. Google Home was working fine under Google Assistant. It broke the day Gemini was forced upon us. Perhaps if the techs at Google focused on the real issue instead, some improvements would be made.

What does this do? Can you provide a human response rather than canned responses?

Google home is completely unreliable, all Google devices in my home have become trash or cannot be trusted anymore.

Does anyone at Google care that you're turning away your loyal customers in droves? No? That's what I thought considering how terribly everything Google related has become over the past year. It's too late. Bye Google! Never again!

1000% agree, I was just woken to a new feature to deactivate my alarm clock in the morning. It only had a thumbs up and thumbs down and neither would work I had to reboot the unit and all my lights remained on so I was forced to reboot it and use another platform to shut my lights off. Sad doesn't even work the way it was marketed and I have furnished my home with them
