Gemini for Home not showing Portuguese as an available language

Good evening,

I have just upgraded to Gemini for Home. Google assistant used to listen and respond in both English and Portuguese (Brazil), but when I go to add Portuguese as a language, it's not showing. Is this a limitation or is it coming soon? I have it working fine in the car on android auto.

I have two Google home minis and a Google home speaker.

Thanks for posting. I'm sorry to hear about the situation you are experiencing now that you have upgraded to Gemini from Home and cannot select Portuguese, as you used to in Google Assistant. Currently, Gemini for Home voice assistant is only available in some countries and languages, which you can check on the "Gemini for Home voice assistant" article. However, as part of our 2026 expansion, we are excited to announce that we are rolling out early access to 7 new languages and 16 new countries.
