When I slide the YouTube TV app closed(swipe from left to right) it closes for a second then reopens to ABC. I assume it's always ABC BC that's the first channel in the guide. I can then swipe again to close or his Stop on media controls on phone.

Hey Clark, I would try reinstalling the Youtube TV app. Delete it from your device and get the most updated version. Give your phone a restart as well.
