@VUHA it seems as if the volume movement is set at increments of 10. Isn't the volume level at 1% almost imperceptible to the ear, thus making viewing unwatchable unless captions are used? What's a "good value"? Is there a "bad value"? If you get the results at the incremental 10 volume level request as well as the micro increment outside of that preset/standard volume level setting, sounds like it's working pretty well as it provides both options. Does it work when you say set the volume to "point 01"?

Is there a problem/concern or is this an observation you wanted to share?

Dear Experts,

I have a very interesting phenomenon, TV volume is set 10 times bigger (loaud) as it comes from direct voice commands.
TV volume range is 0-100.

When I say "Set TV Volume 1", then TV volume is set as 10.

When I say "Set TV Volume 2", then TV volume is set as 20.

When I say "Set TV Volume 10", then TV volume is set as 100.

Commands with percent values are okay.

When I say "Set TV Volume 1 percent", then TV volume is set as 1.

When I say "Set TV Volume 2 percent", then TV volume is set as 2.

When I say "Set TV Volume 10 percent", then TV volume is set as 10.

And so on,

Google assistant on android mobile and google Nest devices confirm the processed good values.

Device firmwares are uptodates, chromecast versions are the same 1.56.xxxx. I got the same result with Nest Mini too. All of devices, included router was rebooted.

What is wrong?

Attila

You can read more details about this here: Re: Why can’t I control Sony Android TV with Googl... - Google Nest Community

My final conclusion after huge tests:

"TV ON/OFF", "SET TV VOLUME X" command process results are very incosistent and depends on some user and TV settings.

These tests could be reproducabled.

Hi Jake,

Problem was not resolved. I was kept in contact with Sony. Nobody could help me.

What I can tell you yet. The phenomenon depends on google accounts and/or voice matching ON/OFF states. There was already happend a situation where voice control operates well via my wife's voice/account, but when I use my voice/account then 10times volume is every times. I didn't find any setting in my google account.

The TV ON/OFF control does not work well too. I see on Nest Hub two type of TV properties. I don't know they come from. I call them as profile now.

Profile A: It seems as minimal default skills (control and cast). TV ON works, but TV OFF does not works.

Profile B: Much more properties (control, cast, volume, inputs), but inconsistent behaviour. It is very important, if I remove the TV from the home and put back, then I get Profile A again. Profile B is usually living, when I clear the google APPs from TV and reinstall them and set the Google Assistant.

This is very complex theme, I hope you see it clearly.

I am electrical engineer with deep protocol analizing skills. If you need any deep investigation on my side just tell me. e.g. Wireshark logging is not problem.

PS: is there any constraint, decreased functionality with my google account, if I use not gmail email address?

Attila
