Hi Rod,

I've just had a look at this and, from what I can see, you cannot pause an alarm on a speaker, only cancel it.

If the alarm has been set on a smart display, you would be able to cancel it by swiping up from the bottom and tapping on the alarm clock icon where you will find the option to turn an alarm on or off.
