What is the procedure for handing over our 'Nest Thermostat' system to the new owner?

Hi Faulknem, Welcome

You can easily transfer the Google Nest Thermostat to a new owner by removing yourself as the old owner from your own account and then transfer the device to the new homeowner’s account instead.

And just a quick add to ArunKumarS' helpful suggestion --It might be best to perform a factory reset on the device, which will remove all personal details and your preferences and allow the new user to start fresh.

Up to you but wanted to get that info to you as well!
