Google home Max no longer responds when I ask it to play a channel on YouTube TV.

For well over a year when I say "hey Google, play channel x on YouTube TV"it's worked perfectly. Suddenly today it now says "I don't know but I found these results on search".

I haven't changed anything. And it's like this for every display in the house.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Between the lights no longer responding and having to be reset and issues like this I don't know how anybody could trust Google home.

Same problem, started for me yesterday — October 27 2021. As a result I can’t bring up YTTV by voice command, which is by far preferred.

Worked again last night, now not working again. Any response Google I know you don't usually respond to your customers but just thought I'd take a shot in the dark here.

Thank you for reaching out. I am sorry to hear that your Google Assistant is not giving the correct results for your YouTube TV search commands.

At this moment, this is a new issue that we are aware of. To better assist the team, I would appreciate it if all of you could send in feedback through your Google Home app or device with the words "GHT3 YouTube TV command is not working." It will allow them to look more in-depth into this issue.

I apologize for the inconvenience caused by this issue and will keep you all updated.

It was working before but now it's been about 3 weeks that it's not showing anything when I ask it to show me YouTube. I have got to select YouTube from my phone and cast.

I am having the “I don’t know but here are some results from search” issue, I don’t want results from search at all. I am rarely within range to read or interact with the results and the top results aren’t read to me, so I just want this feature off. I’ve had my Google home mini, Lenovo, and nest now and since the “results on search” started, I want to throw them all away.

I've had this problem in the past -- in 2021 -- and it went away, no indication of why or how.

Thanks for the followup -- we haven't experienced this in a while. There's an intermittent related (?) issue where you something like "Play CNN on Youtube TV" and it hears "Play CNN on Youtube" (which plays prerecorded CNN clips stored on Youtube).

I'm not sure if this is because of actually mis-interpreting what was said, or if there was ambient-noise interference. Our Nest Hub Max lives in the kitchen, not the quietest spot in the house -- but that's exactly why it works there, since we can give it commands hands-free.

Glad to hear you are no longer running into the issue. As for the device playing older clips on YouTube, it may be due to the search not being narrowed down by subject. I would recommend trying to search for a video title or providing more details on the search on what you are looking for.
