Google nest hub 2nd gen. Wrong qr code

Everytime i try to set up the new device and scan it keeps saying wrong qr code. I just bought this cant connect. I have 2 others 1st gen that work perfectly.

Hey Leonwallersr,

Thanks for reaching out, and apologize for the delays.

I know how frustrating it is when you can't finish setting up your Google Nest Hub (2nd gen) - help is here. To confirm, have you tried using a different phone/tablet for setup? Also, please try rebooting your device by unplugging it from the power source, then leave it unplug for 10 seconds. Once done, plug it back in, then try again to set up your device.

If it's still the same, please proceed with resetting your Google Nest Hub (2nd gen) by pressing and holding both volume buttons together, at the back of the Nest Hub display, for about 10 seconds. You'll hear your Google Assistant confirm that it's resetting the Nest Hub (2nd gen).

Let us know how it goes.

I'm having the same issues even after resetting multiple times and using several different devices. I even tried manual entry, but it will only accept lower case letters and no numbers. It's also asking for a 9 character code. The code on the screen is only 8 and includes letters and numbers

Same issue here. Multiple resets. The setup code on-screen is scanned but then says "Wrong Code" after the scan and wants me to scan the qr code on my google wifi, which I do not own. Message states, "Enter the setup code
Look for the 9-digit setup code on the bottom of your Google Wifi."

Hey, everyone. I just wanted to jump in and mention that there is a difference between the QR code sticker that is on the bottom of the WiFi devices and the code being mentioned by the Home app. The code is permanently engraved on the bottom, and it can be a little hard to see. Make sure you have good lighting present when you look if you're having trouble seeing it.

Actually, it's the code that's displayed on the screen of the hub that you're supposed to use. I finally got mine to add after having to delete all my devices, delete the home app after deleting cache and storage, and add all my devices back. Was not happy about that.

The code on-screen is an 8 digit number sequence. I tried entering that and it fails due to the fact that it's requesting a 9 digit number. This step is searching for a connection to Wifi and not the actual NestHub unit.

Yes, the 8 digit number is the one that worked, once I reset the home app to factory and cleared the cache and data. Before that, I was getting the exact same errors you were.

The add process is a train wreck for these items.

The only code I see is a 14 digit alphanumeric sequence on the bottom of the NestHub, right after where it says, "Made in Vietnam".

Once you start the set up process, it displays a qr code on the screen of the hub.

That is the code the app is looking for. However, you may have to reset your home app to get it to work
