Google Mini is slow to respond

In my small home, I have two Google Minis, one Google Home, and one Nest Hub. If I'm in the middle of my house, they can all hear me when I speak. Generally, it's not a problem. The closest one responds.

For the past 2 days, my Google Home Mini in my bedroom has been incredibly slow to respond. I will say "Hey Google" followed by request, but the Google Home further away responds. Upon closer inspection, based off the lights, it appears that my Google Home Mini is "delayed" in listening and/or responding.

Another example: when I set alarms, all I have to do to stop it is say "Stop." This nearly always works on the first time. With this Google Mini, I'm having to say it 3-4 times before it "hears" me.

Nothing has changed (from where I sit) so I'm baffled as to why it's not working. Help!

Thanks for posting — let's sort this out.

Quick question; were there any recent changes to the network? How far is the Google Home Mini from the router? Could you try moving it closer to the router and see if there will be changes?

Hi Nikki,

It has stopped. Thankfully, it seems to have only been in a 24-hour period.

In case it happens again, I'll still answer the questions:

There were no recent changes to the network.
I have 2 minis. One is close to the wifi. One is further. Both had issues.

I am having the same experience my google

mini is so to hear or take commands when I say hey Google there seems to be a longer than normal delay before the light come on. Also when my morning alarm goes off when I say snooze it does respond and it takes a few attempts for it to hear me say stop 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’ve tried disconnecting a reconnecting to Wi-Fi and nothing has change on my wireless network and device is connected fine

Sorry to hear about your experience with your Google Home Mini. I'd love to help you with your concern. Questions: when did the issue start? What type of connection do you have? Do you have another Google Home/Nest speaker that is working perfectly on the same network? How far is your router from your speaker? Also, what are the steps that you've done?
