Google Nest mini acknowledge radio station and states that it will play it through Tunein but then only silence. How do I fix it

Hi,

It seems that Tune-in is not working anymore on my Google Home Mini.

I send "Hey Google, play <any radio> on TuneIn". I can hear the Tune-in intro twice, but no radio.

Anyone has the same problem?

Sorry to hear that you're having issues listening to TuneIn using your Google Nest Mini. I'd love to dig deeper into this issue. A few questions: when did the issue start? Does it happen to all radio stations in TuneIn? Are you able to play music from other services like YouTube Music and Spotify? How far is your Nest Mini from the router?

Let's try these troubleshooting steps below:

Move your Google Nest Mini within 15-20 ft. away from the router to get enough signal from your network.
Reboot your Google Nest Mini and router by disconnecting them from the power source and leave them unplugged for 1 minute. Once done, plug them back one at a time with intervals.

Let me know once done.

My best won’t play TuneIn,

for the last year I’ve had the RTÉ radio play every morning, same routine, “hey Google play RTÉ radio” and goes ahead, “playing RTÉ radio one on tunein” then a pause, and a little “tunein” jingle just before streaming the radio.

thr last two days, same thing , ask to play RTÉ radio, responds with “playing RTÉ radio 1 one tunein” then nothing

the weird thing is if you go into the Google home app it says thr speaker is streaming “tunein”

volume is on, it will play Music from my Spotify, it will play other radio stations not on tunein,

any ideas?

I am having the same issue. I play today fm on tune in every day on my Google home speaker but it won’t play since yesterday morning. It acknowledges my request and says ‘playing Today FM from Tune In’ but then just silence. My app shows that it is playing the station. I have tried plugging out for a couple of minutes and also disconnecting and reconnecting to Wi-Fi but neither has resolved the issue. I have also tried playing Spotify and it is working fine so it is just Tune In.

Yep I have the exact same problem, I posted on reddit and 2 other people replied with the same issue (in confirmed he was in Ireland). I'm in Ireland to (I'm guessing you are as well considering you mention RTE).

Looks like its an issue localized to Ireland.

I've had the same problem with Today FM and Newstalk so don't think its restricted to RTE.

Correct. I did further testing and tried non Irish radio stations listed on the TuneIn stations list and got the same behavior. Just to be clear I have 2 mini's in the house and both are displaying the same behavior.

Definitely looks like an issue with all Minin's in Ireland (based on the number of responses I've received here and on reddit .

My reddit post is getting a lot of replies this is clearly an issue with all devices in Ireland, do Google support monitor these forums? They really need to look into this immediately.

I have been having the same issue in South Africa. My Mini is less than a meter away from the router and on the same network. I have tested another radio station and it does the same...just silence. I have also tested spotify and that works just fine. I have had this issue now probably for the last week.
