"I can't reach the internet right now" due to overnight nest re-start

Not every time, but after the overnight auto re-stat of my Nest Hub, it does not connect back to my home network, and just stays offline - happens about twice or three times per week. The max local wi-fi devices using the same access is 11 including the Nest Hub, most of the other devices are smart lights and mains plugs. All these other devices are still connected and work fine. I can fix the problem by turning off the Nest Hub and turning it back on (classic solution!), which I have to do from the plug, as there is no power on-off switch within the nest Hub. I have now moved a smart mains plug to attach the Nest Hub which means, using my android phone, connected to the same home wi-fi: I can use the "devices" pull down menu on my phone, select the Nest Hub smart plug and turn the Hub off-then- on again, which fixes the problem. But also proves it is not the wi-fi that is the issue, it must be the Smart Hub itself. My thoughts is when the hub re-boots each night it has a problem re-connecting and seems to not re-try. What is the difference between the overnight software initiated restart and my manual power cycling of the Hest Hub?

Hey Grayone,

That certainly hasn't been easy for you — let's check this out.

To make sure, are you referring to your Google Nest Hub? How far is it from your WI-Fi router? Also, are you using the original power adapter? We recommend you plug in the device directly into a wall outlet.

Yes, My Google (gen1) nest Hub, Model/serial H1A 8B132AA1YU4G, on original lead and adapter, about 20 ft from wi-Fi and plugged in a 13Amp ring main socket.

Hey Grayone,

Thanks for the details.

Give these additional steps a try:

Reboot your router and devices to refresh your connection.
Make sure your Google Home app is updated.
Check router settings. (AP isolation must be disabled and UPnP must be enabled).
If you're using an iOS, turn on Local network access for the Google Home app. Here's how: Privacy > Local Network > Google Home app.
Try resetting your Nest Hub.
Use a mobile hotspot to set up your devices (To isolate the issue).

Strangely, the nest has not lost contact since the original response, so not had a chance to try the fixes... So, please close the thread and I will repost if the correction action doesnt work... in the meantime its a case of: "if it is not broke, dont try to fix it!"
