Nest mini will not connect to wifi

Ok tried it several times but my new nest mini will not connect to my wifi network. I tried resetting both the nest mini and my wifi network several times but using Google home the device will not connect to my brother's wifi. I inputted the correct password and even reset the password to a new one but the mini will not connect to it. The nest mini is one about 4 feet from the wifi box so I know distance is not the problem. Only thing between the nest mini and the router is the TV and a shelf wall.

Sorry to hear about this. Since this is your first time to connect your Google Nest Mini, let's make sure that these are met:

A speaker or display.
Latest version of the Google Home app.
Latest version of the Google app.
A Google Account.
A mobile phone or tablet that:
- Has Android 8.0 or later.
- Works with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi network (a WPA-2 Enterprise network won't work).
- Has Bluetooth turned on.
An Internet connection and secure wireless network.
If you already use Duo for video calling, make sure that you use the same Google Account in Duo and in the Google Home app.

Could you also tell us if you are getting any prompts while you attempt to set it up? I'd love to know more details about it so we can check what are the steps that we need to try.

Ok sorry about that. We contacted his internet provider (Spectrum) and they told us that the nest mini and his thermostat are connected to them. A niece of mine whom is much better with devices is supposed to look into the issue seeing as it is not the nest mini. Thank you for your time.

Hey Megamousegw,

Got it! To eliminate network issues, please try setting up your device using a mobile hotspot. Please note that you will need two mobile devices for this setup (one will serve as a router and the other to be used to set up your Google Nest Mini). Once done, check if your device will have the same behavior.
