Mini Alarms

Here is an idea?

Today I set an alarm for 08:00. My Google minis can at least do that much, however sometime it takes two requests to get it done. 😞

Anyway, I left the house before 08:00 to go and get a magazine.
Then I realised I had not cancelled the alarm.
So I go on the app, no way to cancel the alarm on that device, so I had to go back to the house, else it would be going off until I got back home. 😞

How about some way of cancelling/initiating that on a particular device.? I have 4 Minis.

Hi Gasman,

If you tap on the device icon within the Google Home app then on the settings cog ⚙️ icon top right. Then Audio / Alarms and timers, you can cancel any set alarms or timers.

Edit: Alarms will only sound for 10 minutes.

Good to know the alarm only last 10 minutes, as I thought they went on a lot longer.

Update.

Well, sorry to say that the alarms still go off, way after 10 minutes?

This morning at about 3 am I set an alarm in the bedroom mini for 09:00
However I got up before this and forgot to cancel it.

Anyway at 09:50 I went back upstairs to put my shoes on and the alarm was still going.
I asked it if there were any alarms set and it responded 'yes, you set an alarm for 9am and it is going off right now'
Then I cancelled the alarm.

So the 10 minutes must be a myth, as I was sure I have had them last longer than that, and now I am certain.

Bear in mind these are minis, that you can ask them something and they do not understand, ask them again and they carry out the task.

Ask one to set a time for 10:15 and it will set it for 3pm. 😞

No, not yet, TBH I missed the post by Princess, but have found that resetting them does pretty much nothing. These devices have been reset many times, it just gets annoying when you have to ask it twice to do something.

Will try later, as I have to go out now.

OK, reset the living room mini.
Asked it to set an alarm
It responds Ok what time.
I say 9am as it is 18:00 now.

It would normally say alarm set for 9am tomorrow. It can actually work out it will not be 9am today, as that time has passed.

This time as previous, it pauses and says 'OK, what day and time' and I have to say 9am tomorrow.

Never consistent. 😞

Time is now 18:43 and alarm has been going for 13 minutes and shows no sign of stopping. This is after a hard reset. 😞

FWIW I set an alarm on the landing mini for 8am.
I thought I would leave that run to see if it would go over 10 minutes. It lasted exactly 1 minute.
I set an alarm again and that kept going for over the 10 minutes.

I'll fill in the form when I have a moment. Need to go out for now.
