I have 2 nest cameras which are set up in my kids room. In the kitchen I have a Google hub ( the version before the max). I used to be able to stream the video feed for either camera continuously. In the last couple weeks, it will stream fire a few minutes (5 max) and then cut off. This is not okay when I'm waiting for my littles to wake up or go to sleep.

Help please.

Hey Leogoesgrrr,

Thanks for reaching out, and my apologies for the late response here.

I know how important your kids are safe and being able to monitor them on your Google Nest Hub (1st gen) is a big help. Please note that wired Nest cameras should stream live video for up to 4 hours. If your Nest camera or doorbell is on battery power, it can only stream for up to 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, you need to reactivate the live stream in the app to continue with the stream.

Let's see what's going on with your device:

When did the issue start?

Is it a battery operated Nest camera?

How far is your Nest Hub from your router?

Are there other people streaming the camera using a different device at the same time?

What is the operating and firmware version of your Nest Hub?

Please try these steps below:

Move your Google Nest device within 15-20 ft. away from the router to get enough signal from your network.

Reboot your Google Nest device and router by disconnecting them from the power source and leave them unplugged for 1 minute. Once done, plug them back one at a time with intervals.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,
