No microphone option for camera on google hub max

Just got google hub max through adt for display of cameras.

cameras do not have microphone option to talk through camera. Unsure why this is not a basic function of the cameras. Problem could be solved if google has home app installed on hub devices versus home control option.

waste of money for hub if I can’t speak through cameras on a device that has to microphone function

Thanks for posting.

Could you please verify if you have already set up the camera of your Google Nest Hub Max? If it is done, let's try these steps:

Before you start

Look and Talk will only work with certain settings enabled on your Nest Hub Max and Google Assistant. To set up Look and Talk, first check:

Nest Hub Max
- Camera sensing, Voice Match and Face Match are turned on.
- The Nest Cam is turned off. Tip: If the Nest Cam is on, the light on your Nest Hub Max will be green.
Google Assistant
- The selected language is English.
- Only one language is selected.

Note: Face Match and Look and Talk work best when you put your Nest Hub Max in a place where it can easily recognize you.

Turn on Look and Talk

Open the Google Home app .
On the Home screen , tap Settings .
In the "Features" section, tap Google Assistant Face Match.
Find the name of your Nest Hub Max turn on "Look and Talk."
