Terrible delay with 2 nest audio pair with tv.

When i pair two nest audio with tv, there is more than 1s delay. "Group delay correction" didnt work at home. I bought the 2nd nest audio is to set up the stereo. Now, it doesnt work at all, wasted my money. I saw this problem has happened since last year, how come it is still not fixed.

have a similar problem. using 1 speaker connected to pc is perfect and when connected as a speaker pair there is a 1 second delay. This is really disappointing as both my devices are Bluetooth 5 compliant

Thanks for reaching out. Oh no! That is not great to hear that your speaker groups are encountering an audio delay. I understand your frustration and would be more than happy to help find a solution.

My first question is, which Google Home/Nest devices are using for your speaker group? (model name, generation number)

Next, are you using the speaker groups for audio? Speaker groups only support music and audio.

Third, if you are using it for only audio, have you tried the 'group delay correction' troubleshooting steps?

Here are the steps:

Make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as your Chromecast, or speaker or display.
Cast music to the group that's playing out of sync.
Stand between the out of sync speakers (or as close to in between as you can) and adjust their volume levels so you hear them both playing at about the same level.
Open the Google Home app .
Tap the device you want to correct group playback delay.
Tap Settings Audio Group delay correction.
Move the slider to the left or right until the audio sound in sync.

Note: For many devices, the inherent delay is extremely short, so group playback will be in sync without any additional adjustments. Do not adjust the group delay correction unless you notice a consistent, significant delay. The group delay correction setting only affects group playback. This setting will have no effect when casting to a single speaker or TV. A device’s group delay correction setting will be applied to all the groups that the device is a part of. If you connect a Chromecast or Chromecast Audio to another speaker or TV, the previous group delay correction setting might be incorrect. Make sure to reset it to "0" delay again and listen to see if additional correction is required.

i have nest audio speaker x2. the audio between each speaker is fine, but the delay is created in the latency between the speakers and the PC. i wanted to use the speakers as PC speakers but the out of sync audio/visual is ubearable (up to a second). i guess you have just said it, they are not designed for this purpose. This is a shame because it isn't made clear in the sales descriptions. (as entertainment is not only audio). It could work, but it hasnt been implemented as i have seen these complaints span from long ago. it somehow works in mono but its glitchy and the other speaker drops out, but at least it comes out of 2 speakers and in sync. The problems exist when you pair them in stereo.(that is when the audio/video becomes out of sync.

I have the same issue. I bought two Nest Audio to use them as a Stereo Speakerpair. The work fine but as you mentioned, when connected via bluetooth to a phone or PC the delay of the audio is around a second. This makes it impossible to watch a video with the audio transmitted to the speakers. All my devices support Bluetooth 5.0 and I never experienced such a huge delay on any Bluetooth device! This really sucks, cause google is promoting this feature of the dual speakers. I also have experienced that if i use just one of the speakers the audio has a very short delay, so there is a serious issue with this speakerpair mode. It would be great to know if Google is working on this issue cause i consider sending them back! Such a delay is a dealbreaker for me. Thanks

I have exactly the same problem. I really like the nest audio speakers, but for this reason I'm thinking about returning them. So hopefully there is something you can do soon, becauss I don't want to return them.

I second everyone's complaint about this audio delay when using the two Nest audio speakers. Unpairing the two speakers reduces the lag just a little, but the delay is still there. This is very disappointing since the TV bluetooth pairing capability was one of the main reasons I purchased the Nest audio! My smaller/cheaper JBL bluetooth speaker doesn't even have a delay like this! Google Nest team, please help fix this!

Same issue here, and it’s a pretty fatal flaw. I wanted to use as a pair for TV and movies … it’s completely unwatchable. Unpairing helps a little but defeats the purpose.

The Home app does have delay controls (capped at 200ms), but the delay is so severe that those controls don’t help in the least bit. The lag is closer to 1 second than 200ms.

The nest audio is an impressive assistant fantastic quality audio streamer but latency or lag time makes these paired devices not suitable for audio visual use.

Chromecast device has no logical solution either.

Will there be any firmware update to address this issue, Or is there a recommended bluetooth usb dongle that could do what I believed the Chromecast should have.

Thanks for reading...Not angry just frustrated at the thought of returning the speakers and casting device during a resurgent pandemic.

Same issue here. Wanted to use my Google speakers as a stereo pair with my Google TV...and the audio/video lag is horrible, about a second lag between the video and the audio.

Why advertise the Nest Audio speakers as "even better in a pair" when they can't do something basic as functioning as a pair of TV/computer speakers...

Same problem here as well. Just bought a second Google Nest Audio to pair up for stereo use with my computer, but the lag is way to long, so to use them as pc-speakers when watching movies, youtube etc. is out of the question.

I too didn't read the small letters that said speaker groups only was for music and audio. Kind of defeats half the purpose with the pairing suggestion from Google.

I currently have dualboot on my desktop with Ubuntu 21.10 and Windows 10 Pro.

It feels like the lag is the same on both platforms.

I really hope the issue will be addressed soon, because I like the speakers really much, and I don't want to return them to the shop.

Something I wanna point out so people understand how frustrating this is. On the US Google Store website, Google has a package with two Nest Audios, A Nest Hub Max, and a Chromecast w/Google TV. They advertise it as a "Home of Entertainment package" so you can "watch and listen in more rooms."

Why, Google, is there not a more visible disclaimer that the stereo-pair feature is not suitable for video especially when you're advertising something like this bundle?

It just seems like a false advertisement... I would not have bought two of the same thing if it does not support chromecast. I hope google could at least allow delay adjustments to Chromecast or something so that the sound could be in sync with the video.

if Jeff Bezos and his smart speakers can sort this out i cannot understand why you cannot make a sync system which with software can normalize the audio and video sync. it is possible and being one of the most powerful tech companies on earth i am sure you can help us. I can not use these speakers as i intended when i purchased these speakers. its disapointing and im glad others are coming forth to complain of your lack of support. I see no one is answering us anymore so maybe you have given up on us. Now made worse by your loss of a legal law suit by SONOS makes are options even more dire.
