Thanks for the reply. Sorry, I should have mentioned it but I already manually restarted the system by pulling plugs sequentially - no change unfortunately

Hi all, recewtly I'm having multiple issues with my Google Home setup. I have:

Google nest mesh network (1 hub, 3 speaker points)

3 Google mini speakers

'Hey google' is switched off on my phone app

The system worked great for a long time, but for the last few months it seems to be getting worse and worse. Examples are:

I often have to repeat a simple command, like 'lights on'. When I say it the first time, the speaker will flash the lights to show it's thinking and then play the positive beep sound, but nothing happens. I then have to repeat the command, and it works second time.

When in a room and asking for music to be played, I will often get confirmation that google will play the music withi that same room, but it will actually play it in a different room, or sometimes will play in both the current room and a different room as well - often the rooms are at other ends of the house, so not close to each other (and not part of a speaker group).

I have tried to adjust mic sensisitivity of the devices down to avoid any cross-room contamination, and am pretty sure it's not that.

Like I say, I haven't changed the setup for a couple of years now and it used to work fine - it just seems to be getting worse as time goes by. Thanks for any help

Make sure your mobile device or tablet is linked to the same account as your speaker or display.
Open the Google Home app.
Touch and hold your device's tile.
At the top right, tap Settings More. Reboot.

Greetings,
Peter

Hi MattRoberts,

We're sorry to hear that you're having concerns with your Nest devices. Let us help you find the solution and I know that you have already tried adjusting the mic sensitivity, thank you for that, but it would help a lot if we also do a sequential reboot on all your devices. Doing so will refresh all connections between devices. Unplug the power cord of your router followed by your 3 mesh points. After that, unplug your 3 Google Home Mini's. Plug them back in after 3 minutes starting with your router. Restarting your phone might also help. Monitor afterwards.

Tell us how it goes.

Best,

Dan

Hey there,

I hear you! And thank you for doing the provided steps. If you could, why don't we test out one of your Nest speakers? Is it a Nest Mini or a Google Home Mini? To do the test, it will really be of big help if you could do a factory reset on one of your Nest speakers to revert it back to its default and original settings. Setting it up is a must and this time around have it closer to your main router. Once the setup is done, give a voice command saying "Hey, Google! Sync all devices", if there are devices needed to be synced back.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Dan
