Ok latest update, I used a very old iPhone se that I had not updated the Google home app. Success now Woking fine. I assume that it’s the updated app that’s the problem.

please Google sort it.

Thanks for your response, after several hours and trying various thing’s I seemed to have got thing’s right. In the end I managed to connect and put things right via an old iPhone. So I will mot update the apps on this phone just in case I need to call on it again.
