Found a fix. You need to reset both devices and make sure they are both in the same room before pairing, do this by closing the home app after assigning the room and then going back in to make sure they are both in the same room then pair.

Just got another 2nd Gen nest mini to set up the Stereo function.

All connected and paired and got the joint connection noise from them both. Then trying to play the speaker says

I cannot connect to the other speaker in this pair, make sure it's connected to power and WiFi.

I can switch over to the other speaker but they won't play at the same time.

I have done a full factory reset on both.

Any ideas?
