Cast audio from pc without wifi (only ethernet) to google home speakers.

Hi, my PC is connected to a Rogers internet provider router via ethernet cable, also, from the router, I connected my google wifi router via cable and create the WIFI network mesh that is used for all my google home speakers.

My PC doesn't have a WIFI adapter.

Is there a way to cast audio from my PC chrome web browser to my google speakers?

I can't see any devices when I try to cast from chrome or Spotify.

Any ideas?

A secure, private WiFi network is required for using the Google cast protocol.

@adgesemp, Thanks for reaching out. When you play music from a Chrome browser tab, you can mirror what's playing on your Chrome browser onto your speaker or display. Check out the steps below for guidance.

Step 1. Set up casting from Chrome:

If you don't have Chrome yet, download Chrome.
Make sure you run the latest version of Chrome. If you have trouble, learn how to get Chrome updates.
Though not required, it's recommended to pin the Cast button to your Chrome toolbar.
Make sure your laptop or computer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your speaker or display.

Step 2. Cast content from Chrome to your speaker or display:

There are several ways to cast content from Chrome to your speaker or display. For all options below, make sure your computer is connected to the same Wi-Fi as your speaker or display.

Option 1. From the Cast button:

Note: The "Cast desktop" option is not supported on speakers and displays.

If you’ve pinned the Cast button to your toolbar, in the upper right corner of your browser, click the Cast button .
Choose the speaker or display you want to play music on.

Option 2. From a Chromecast-enabled site:

Open a Cast-enabled site.
Click the Cast button . This is typically found near other media controls, like play, pause, and volume.
Choose the speaker or display you want to play music on.

Option 3. From Chrome Setting menu

In the Chrome toolbar in the upper right corner of your browser, click the Chrome Settings menu Cast...
Choose the speaker or display you want to play music on.

Option 4. From a webpage in Chrome:

Open a tab in Chrome browser.
Right click on the webpage Cast...
Choose the speaker or display you want to play music on.

Did you read the description of my issue?

How can I make my Ethernet connected PC part of my Google mesh?

Chrome doesn't show me any device available for casting audio or video!!!

Hey adgesemp,

Sorry for the delays. To answer your question, you will need to connect your computer via Ethernet cable on one of your Google WiFi Mesh for you to cast on your Google Home speakers.

I'm afraid that's not possible. Casting requires to be connected directly on the same Wi-Fi network where the casting device and Google Nest speakers are connected.

I miss that one.. but anyway that not a real solution for me!!

Why would I want to go wifi when I have a hardwire connection that is easy faster!!!
