Hub max display connectivity

My parents are living in an assisted living facility with Spectrum wifi included. When installing their Nest hub max and mini, I get the message to disable AP isolation. Is there a way to get around this, as I have no access to the router of the facility. Also there are no ethernet jacks in their apt. to plug my own router into. Any ideas?

Hi vrod82,

Google Nest and Home devices cannot communicate with the router if AP or Client isolation is enabled. AP Isolation or Client Isolation should be disabled on the Wi-Fi router. Nest devices rely heavily on Wi-Fi settings to work.

You can request from the admin that handles their Wi-Fi connection to help access the router and disable the AP or client isolation.

If they have enabled MAC address filtering on their router, you can add the MAC address. You can either contact their ISP or router manufacturer to let them add the MAC address.

How to locate the Google Nest or Home device's MAC address:

From the Connect to Wi-Fi screen, tap the More menu located in the top right corner.
Tap Show MAC Address.

Note: MAC address filtering ― if the router has MAC address filtering enabled, it's necessary to add the MAC address of the Google Nest or Home device to the list of filtered devices.
