Nest mini casts different song then what was requested

If I'm listening to youtube music, and go to cast to nest mini, it will start to cast a random song. Example I want to cast logic - alright from my phone, then it will start playing glass animals - heat waves (no clue what that is). I have 2 nest mini's and this is the case with both. If I ask the assistant to play logic-alright, it will either say it cannot complete the command, or will play from youtube (not youtube music).

Steps I have taken:

Restart all devices, router, modem, phone.
Removed nest mini from home, and then added back.
Checked that youtube music premium was connected to google home.

Side note, I have 2 chromecast audio's, and 2 google tv's with chromecast and neither have this issue. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Thanks for sharing details about the issue here. I know how challenging it is when you're having issues playing music on your Google Nest Mini. A few questions: when did the issue start? Do you have a premium subscription with YouTube Music? Does it happen to all songs? How about other music services like Spotify and Pandora? Also, could you list down the title of songs so we can try it on our devices?

Issue started about 2 weeks ago. I have yt music premium. Issue is only with yt music. Happens to about 75% of songs. I tried Amazon music and did not have this issue. The issue persists.

Here is another update. I factory reset both nest mini's and then I can cast any song from my phone (yay).

That is until i ask the assistant to play a song. Then the entire issue comes back. Only have a quarter of the YT music available. Google nest plays a different song then what was cast, or says it cannot complete the request. I'm shocked I'm the only person having this issue as the behavior is identical on both nest mini's. As stated before, not other issue with other google devices capable of casting.

I do not have this issue with chromecast audio (x2), or google tv with chromecast (x2). only nest mini. How do i send a video?

Thanks for the information. If you haven't already, please unplug your Wi-Fi router and two Google Nest Minis for five minutes before plugging them back in. Check if you can cast to these speakers afterwards. If the issue persists, fill out this form so our specialist team can look into it.

Unfortunately no luck with turning it off and on again. I have filled out this form. Hopefully hear back with a solution soon.
