Google using incorrect streaming service.

Hi everyone.

So I'm having this super annoying issue where every time I ask Google to play a song, it comes back with "Sure, check out this playlist on Deezer."

I don't use Deezer, never have. I've never associated a Deezer account with my Google Home, and in my Google Home settings, my default music streaming service is set to YouTube Music, yet for some reason it insists on trying to play everything I request from Deezer. I have to specifically ask it to play songs from YouTube Music before it will actually do it.

I haven't found a way to get rid of this, I'd like to just be able ask it to play a song without it trying to constantly play from a music service I don't use.

Any help appreciated.

Hi @PotatoGraphick

Could you verify you are using the same account on your Google Home device as your Google Home App settings?
It should be configured in the Google Home app, as you mentioned.

Thanks for the help, @RXShorty.

@PotatoGraphick, were you able to verify the email account your Google Home device is linked to?

Let’s try these steps:

Unplug your Google Home device from the power outlet for a minute > Plug back in.
Open the Google Home app > Tap your device icon > Settings > Remove device > Remove.
From the Devices tab, scroll down to Other Cast Devices or Local Devices > Tap the device you removed > Add to a room.
Try to play music.
