topic NEST mini immediate deauthentication in Speakers and Displays

I've recently changed router but have reset this to the previous SSID/password. (Although I think it's now on a different channel.)

I'm unable to get my Nest mini reconnected despite several power cycles, factory resets, router reboots, etc. Whilst connected to my own network or directly to the speaker's hotspot. I'm told that the network password may be wrong - it's not. Interesting my router logs show authentication and then immediate deauthentication, which I believe is normally the client hanging on to an old network profile? If this is the case does it mean that factory reset (by switching off mic, holding down until reset) is not a complete reset?

Any pointers? Several hours of googling has led nowhere 😞

Many thanks, Mike

Swapped the Nest Mini with another Mini. The one giving problems happily connected to a different AP. The replacement also gives me the same problems as I was seeing yesterday. It would seem there's something strange w.r.t. my WiFi signal? Note there's a Nest Cam (wired) happily connected without these issues.

What could be the issue? I'd checked there's no AP isolation. In my research yesterday I found a post to toggle on multicast support but that made no difference.

The router is a D-Link DIR-655. A bit ancient but a classic! The network here isn't good - in this office I'm getting 11-15Mb/s.

Problem solved by replacing the AP hardware with an old EE router (DHCP turned off). I guess I'll never understand why the speaker failed to connect to the signal from the D-Link when the Nest Cam was happy.

Hello matkinson999,

Sweet! We're happy to hear that replacing the AP hardware with an old EE router has fixed the issue, and thanks for keeping us in the loop. Let us know if you have other questions or concerns; otherwise, I'll be locking this thread after 24 hours.

Cheers,
