Nest Mini Routine with 2 media types

Hello,

I am trying to set up a bedtime routine on my Nest Mini and I cannot get it to work.

I want to say “hey Google, bedtime” and have it do the following:

1. Play a specific lullaby from Spotify 1 time

2. Turn off Spotify

3. Play “white noise” ambient sounds all night until I manually turn it off

Please help me!! (Thank you in advance)

Thanks for visiting the Google Nest Community! Try to add these actions to your bedtime routine:

+ Add action > Try adding your own > Type in: Play [lullaby] on Spotify for [a minute].
+ Add action > Delay start. Set a time to add a delay(s) between actions so that the next action runs after the specified delay from the previous action.
+ Add action > Play and control media > Sleep sounds > Edit action and choose your sound.
Save routine.

Hi Alex,

Thank you for the reply. Google Nest mini still won’t function the way I need it to. I created a completely new routine and followed your steps above, and here are the issues:

1. Still only plays the lullaby for a few seconds (sometimes not at all)

2. Google announces “delay starting now”

3. No delay actually happens and it goes right into the white noise sleep sounds as soon as Google is finished speaking.

Do you have any other ideas to get this to work?

Hi there,

It’s a pleasure to assist you. Let’s try creating two different routines.

For the first routine, set a time and date, then add an action to only play lullaby.
- + Add action > Try adding your own > Type in: Play lullaby on Spotify.
For the second routine, set the next time and date, and then add the actions:
- + Add action > Try adding your own > Stop music.
- + Add action > + Add action > Play and control media > Sleep sounds > Edit action and choose your sound.
- Save routine.
