Same songs keep getting repeated when playing YouTube Music in my Nest Hub

I ask Google Home to play a song from a specific artist, beging with the songs... after 3 or 4 the same songs repeat...

I am using my YouTube Music subscription.

When I ask "hey Google play some music" it does so but sometimes it plays 3 or 4 songs and will repeat forever until stopped, other times will get stuck on two songs! It's highly annoying, Anyone know how to fix this?

this same question has been asked several time without a valid response!!! Has this problem been resolved???

For the last month or so when I say "play music" my speakers will pick 3 or 4 songs and just play them on loop. I figured this would fix itself but it never did. I see that others have had the same issue before, but the thread always gets locked before a solution is found. Is there anyway to fix this?

Thanks for bringing this up.

Can someone confirm when did you first encounter the issue? Also, could you please provide the exact commands you've used. Lastly, kindly check other music provider and see if this is isolated on YouTube Music only.

Noticed it the day before yesterday.

The command was <play 60's classic rock>

Answer was <ok, check out this sixties classic rock station from YouTube music>

Then the over and over mayhem began.

No, it doesn't affect other providers.

It also does not happen with youtube music on my phone

Started a few weeks ago, not sure what day. "Hey google, play music." I only have YouTube music. To circumvent the issue I've had to either request a specific song, when then starts a Playlist, or use my phone either with Bluetooth or cast.

Thanks for the reply. Just so we’re on the same page, which Nest speakers are we working with? Is it a Nest Hub or Nest Hub (2nd Gen)? Could you confirm if it’s only happening with YouTube Music when asking to play any playlist? What country are you located in?

It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first:

Unplug the power cord from your router, followed by your Nest speakers.
Plug them back in after 3 minutes.
Restarting your phone might also help.

Once done, unlink and relink your YouTube Music services from your Google Home app. Please refer to this helpful guide: Link your music services and set your default service.

It is when another member of my family asks for the music. I have a YouTube premium but they do not. How is that supposed to work? Is it only me that can ask for music ad free? And what are the other limits for those in my household besides getting ads ?

Music on Nest Mini no longer random enough

Note: this has nothing to do with Android, but the form forces me to select a platform.

For at least the last month or so, telling my Nest Mini to "Play some music" starts it playing from YouTube Music as normal. But it will only play a small handful of songs, repeating the same song several times in an hour. It will also get stuck playing several songs from a single artist in a row. Sometimes it will play one song, play another song, and then play the previous song again. It's very repetitive.

It used to respond to "play some music" by playing an endless variety of songs suited to my tastes. It would play for hours and hours without repeating the same songs.

I use my Nest Mini to have some ambient music while I'm working, and the endless repetition makes it too annoying.

The Google/Nest team changed something on the backend in the last month or two, and it needs to be changed back.

Tried all that mess and it's still the same. Also it's not on a hub, I don't have one, it's a nest mini that's about to go into the trash and replaced with another provider.

I have a 1 Gen Hub, the problem started a few weeks ago. I live in Texas, USA. I only have YouTube Music, and the problem doesnt affect my phone (iphone). I usually say "Hey Google, play some Genesis..." It replies " Got it, here is a Genesis playlist..." for a few songs its fine, but then is starts repeating the songs it already played.

I have already reseted all the devices, Router, HotSpot, Hub and even my Iphone; problem remains.

Hi, I have the same issue.
Started happening a few weeks ago. I have 5x Nest Mini and 1x Next Max. All devices are doing the same thing.
I’m lucky to get 3x songs before it starts repeating again.

Done all the steps of rebooting and unlinking to no avail. I have a full YT music subscription.

Please advise.

Don't want to jump the gun, but I have been trying the Google home Hub, with different music requests... and apparently the repeating issue is not happening.... anyone else have this experience...? What changed?.... I will keep trying it, to see if it's a fix or just good luck...

Was just about to say it's still doing the repeat dance on the nest mini and the bohemian song juggle on the Google mind's lol.

Funny thing is it's fine when using the YouTube Music app with my car sterio.

To isolate further, kindly send us the firmware version of your devices. See the steps below.

Check the firmware version of your speaker or display"

To check which firmware version you're on, follow these steps:

Open the Google Home app .
Touch and hold your device's tile.
Tap Settings Device information.
Under "Technical information," check for Cast firmware: "X.XXX.XXXXX." If the device is on Fuchsia, check for System firmware version: "X.XXXXXXXX.X.XXXXXXX"

Check the version on your Nest display:

Swipe up from the bottom of the display screen.
Tap Settings About device. You should find your "Cast firmware version."
- For Nest Hub (1st gen) and Nest Hub Max: If “Fuchsia Version” is also listed, this means your device runs Fuchsia.
