Nest mini doesn’t work until I open Google home app on iPhone

Hi, I have two Google nest mini 2nd generation connected to same wifi network, both were configured using my iPhone.

the starter working well for a few months and suddenly, like 3 months ago they stopped working, when I say hey Google they take 15 seconds to load and finally they say: something went wrong.

if I unplug it and plug it back in, they work well for 5 minutes and goes back to something went wrong

already checked wifi network but all seems good since other devices are still working and when I send music from Spotify to nest mini it works.

I notice when I open Google home app it shows all devices loading between 30 seconds and 2 minutes, after that devices are available and nest mini are back working until y close the app

it seems to be a problem between Google home app on iPhone and connection with Nest Mini

Hi Mayruiz12,

Thanks for posting—let's get this sorted out. Are you using a dual-band router? If yes, try to connect one Google Nest Mini to the other band and then monitor its behavior. If the issue persists, configure your router settings:

Change the DNS server on your router to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.
Reboot the router for 2 minutes.
Reboot your Google Nest Mini devices.

Hi Alex, thank you for your response, yes, I’m using a dual hand router, I tried using 5Ghz network but no luck, so both nest mini are now connected to 2.4Ghz network.

This router is currently managed by mi internet provider, I will contact them to try to configure this DNS servers.

Once I get any news I’ll be back
