Hi @Mmyname

Don't have a mini, just a couple of Nest Audio speakers, but whenever I want it to play the next song I tend to just say 'hey google skip track'.

Could try that, but I have noticed over the past year or so, all the Nest type products seem to have the occasional blip when they start giving the response you mentioned to almost anything. This usually resolves itself a few minutes later but does tend to be very annoying. If it continues to happen I generally reboot the system and that usually resolves the problem. All a bit of a pain.

I am using Google voice assistant to play songs in my Google home speaker Mini. But when I ask to play next song it longer does that. It responds with " something went wrong, when you are ready give it another try"

I am using basic free version of YouTube.
