Yep, that's what I normally got in response to those queries. I tried rewording it to "what's the weather going to be like today?" and I got a proper answer, but it seems a bit odd that I have to so carefully word such a simple question.

The Google assistant of both my Nest devices stopped responding correctly to commands that worked perfectly for years.

If I ask something as simple as "What's the weather like, today?" Or "What's the temperature outside?" It responds - without fail - with the Wikipedia definition of "weather" or "temperature". This just started recently.

The same requests are handled without issues by the Google assistant on my pixel phone.

Is the assistant on Nest devices getting worse? What can I do to solve this?

I've always used Google's IOT tech, but these particular products are becoming pretty much unusable. Hope somebody can provide suggestions.

Thanks!

If I ask our Nest Hubs "What's the weather like, today?" or "What's the temperature outside?", I get a detailed answer for our current local weather.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for checking here, MpIsCustomer.

Superstooge, let’s try to troubleshoot your Google Nest Audio devices. Do a manual reboot by unplugging the power cord for a minute > Plug it back in. Ask it about the weather or temperature again. If the issue persists, do the steps below:

Open the Google Home app > Devices > Tap your Google Nest Audio device icon > Settings > Remove device > Remove.

Go back to the Devices tab > Scroll down to Other Cast/Local Devices > Choose your Google Nest Audio > Add to a room. Follow the prompts to add it back to your room.

Give it a test command.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Alex
