Sneaky Price Change

I called support because my monthly Nest Aware, which was previously $50/yr, all of a sudden became $80/yr.

The explanation on the phone is that nothing that applied to Gen1 still applies, hence the price increase??? My doorbell is Gen1 and nothing has changed except the fee.

They sent me an email containing an attachment that shows Gen1 service available at the $50/yr price I was paying.

Support rep Wendy said I should consider myself lucky, because every plan now costs WAY more than $80/yr, but the attachment shows Gen2 support for $60/yr!

This all makes no sense on any level. Make it make sense.

Google Nest is raising its Nest Aware prices this year as our annual subscriptions renew. We have a Nest Aware Plus subscription, which went from $120/year to $150/year; it's the first price increase since 2019.

We received an email on Sept. 1, 2023 about the pending price increase.

That's a good question for Google Nest Support to answer. I'm just another Google Nest customer, but the image you posted seems to show the old prices before the price increase announced in Sept. 2023, and effective with subscriptions renewing in Nov. 2023 and after.
