Wired outdoor camera is missing events

Every morning when I take my dog out the camera misses the event of me going out the door. It does capture the event when I return a few minutes later. If you go backwards reviewing the footage you can see me leaving so it's there, but no event is created. I have tried restarting the camera and it didn't make a difference. I've had this camera for several years and this is a new problem. Not sure when it started, probably at least a few months ago.
