chrome-cast work ok with commercial sources

how play mp4 from my phone?

I have purchased chromecasst and downloaded google home and chromecaster

youtube works fine

i want to cast mo4 videos. Do not know how. If it won’t work for that how do I get my money back for chrome caster ?

Thanks for reaching out. I'm afraid that option isn't supported using an iOS phone, however you may try to download the file to Google Photos and cast it or share it to your Google Drive then cast your desktop using a computer/laptop to play your mp4 files. See here how to cast a desktop.

Jennifer I don’t really understand your message and I haven’t had time to experiment with it. I hope to try tomorrow. Another option is to try streaming the lecture files from Great Courses. I’m not optimistic, though. Maybe your scheme will work if I cZn figure it out. Thanks for follow-up

Hi Don, I have merged your messages into one thread as you just created new messages and @JenniferV would not have seen your responses.

She is correct there is not a native way to cast mp4 from an iPhone, you can try Google photos , or as an alternative create a free Plex Media server and cast from there.
