Thanks for reaching out. Let’s check this out — a few questions: what’s the model of your Nest camera? Do you have an Android or iPhone? Also, do you have a Nest Aware subscription?

Here’s how to add the name of a person in your familiar face library:

Home app:

Open the Google Home app .
Tap Settings > Nest Aware > Familiar face detection.
To add or change the name, tap a face and enter a new name.

Nest app:

Open the Nest app .
Tap Settings > Familiar faces.
Tap on the familiar face profile you want to name.
Tap Name.
Give the person a new name. You can use their actual name or enter a description like “mail carrier.”
