Wired Smoke Detector drains battery - professional install

I had my smoke detector recently installed by a professional. We verified the wiring, etc. I have also turned off night lights, etc. that could be draining the batteries. I am only using AA lithium as instructed. The smoke detector will now only last ONE WEEK before notifying me that the batteries are low and need to be replaced. What am I missing?? I can't reach anyone at Nest to try to help me. Tried to get a replacement as it is covered under warranty still but when I attempt to file a claim, the page is no longer available. Thank you.

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I’m sorry to hear that you’re having issues with Nest Protect. Don’t worry; help’s here.

After Nest Protect is paired or processes a software update, Nest Protect will calibrate its sensors and battery level over the next 24 hours. Leave the original batteries in the Nest Protect for now. If the low battery alert ceases after 24 to 48 hours, it’s expected behavior.

If the issue persists, please follow the steps below:

Go to your Nest Protect and press the Nest button on it once. It should say, “Ready. Press to test.”
Press and hold the button until it chimes and says “Version number…”.

You can also use the Nest app to get the Nest Protect’s version number.

Open the Nest app > Go to Settings > select the affected Nest Protect > tap Technical info > look for the version number.

To further assist you, please provide the Nest Protect’s software version.

So, just to be clear. I need to press the Nest button (keep the original batteries in, that are low? or replace with new ones again?). I looked up the version number on the app so I have that. What is this supposed to do? Testing and verifying the version number? The information is:

Software 3.5rc3

Model Topaz-2.33

Serial no. ################

Replace by 04/21/2033

Backup Battery. replace soon
