topic Installation Orientation in Nest Thermostats

Can the Nest Thermostat base be installed horizontally? I know it kind of defeats the purpose of the leveling bubble, but it would be nice to get one of the screws into solid wood (a stud). Thanks in advance.

I guess you can but everything is going to be sideways not too sure if nest has any function that asks for it to be installed leveled. Couple anchors would help really no need for the screws to be in a stud anchors in drywall is good enough. Good luck

@ScottJE, thanks for reaching out to us, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. I want to check and see if you are still in need of any help or if you have seen the explanation from HVAC above. On the other hand, this article will explain more on where are the Nest Thermostats should only be installed.

Let us know if you have any other questions. We're happy to help.

Best,

Zoe
