Unfortunately, I don’t think Nest does that. It’s a surprising miss in their design, but I’ve asked tech support (about to swap a nest for another nest) and they say to remove the old from the app, and start the whole install process from scratch

I'm getting reading to swap my current Nest Learning (Gen3), which is failing, for a new Nest Learning (Gen3). Besides going through the steps you described in the app, is it as easy as removing the old one from the existing base and connecting the new one to the existing base, or do I need to swap out the bases/wiring too?
