Nest thermostat isn't showing weather info

Hi there,

I have a nest learning thermostat installed at home but one of the issues I'm facing is that it doesn't show the weather info. It shows m2 error.

After troubleshooting I did reset the thermostat it worked but once I link it with the nest app it happens again.

I did another reset and left it without linking it to the nest app it's working as it should.

Another thing I noticed is that as soon as I link it with the nest app the location settings on the thermostat itself disappears.

I did check both the Google home app and the nest app and insured that my homes location is the same on both.

Now my nest app isn't able to show the weather info but the thermostat does.

Once I link the thermostat to the nest app, they both fail to show the weather information.

Your assistance is highly appreciated!

Thanks for bringing this up in the Google Nest Community forum. I’m sorry to hear you’re having issues when the Nest Thermostat is connected to the Nest app. Let’s check this out. Try the steps here:

Check for any Android updates or iOS updates.
Make sure the Nest app version is updated by Uninstall the Nest app.
Restart your phone and reinstall the app.
Update the Nest Learning Thermostat. From the Quick view menu on your thermostat, select Settings.
Choose Software Update.
