Hi RPMGSXR,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. Please check for the type of Nest Thermostat you have so you can take the right explanation for you below.

Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E have a learning feature that allows your thermostat to learn your previous temperatures set to them, which is why your Nest Thermostat keeps on changing the temperature you set or switching to heating in your case. For Nest Thermostat 2020, that has automatic switching with a presence sensing feature. If you've enabled Home and Away routines or Home/Away Assist, your thermostat might still automatically switch to what it has learned from your thermostat auto-schedules. You can disable the learning feature or auto-schedule feature of your thermostat by checking out how to disable learning for the temperature schedule article.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Best,

Every once in awhile the heat on all three of my Nest thermostats will turn itself on there's nothing in the schedule I have made sure that there's nothing in scheduling and that all the thermostats are set to the lowest temperature yet I woke up this morning and all three thermostats two were at 72 and one was at 68° and my heat was running when I didn't want it running before I take these things and put them in the trash I want someone to tell me why my heat is turning itself on I thought these thermostats were supposed to help me save energy not waste energy and this happens way more often than it should because it should never happen but this is a dozen or more times that this has happened where I've had to go and manually turn all the thermostats down despite them being turned down to begin with
