Nest Thermostat Low Battery Alert Returns Even after Replacing Batteries

Hi Team,

I am facing the similar issue with the Thermostat , this has been the case from January. I have tried replacing batteries multiple times but did not work , so I left it with low batteries . However, I want to fix the issue before my device warranty runs out.

I have already filled the form.

First a disclaimer, I do not have a thermostat with replaceable batteries as it is an older version. If it still applies, the battery voltage should be about 3.7 Volts. This can be seen by going to Settings>Tech Info>Power on your thermostat.

If you repeatedly get low battery messages from your thermostat, or if there’s another power-related message, you may need to check the C wire connection or install a C wire to provide consistent power to your thermostat and prevent the backup batteries from draining. Some systems, including heating-only, cooling-only, zone-controlled, and heat pump systems, require a C wire or the Nest Power Connector. Go to https://goo.gle/40sXMNB for details.

Please try the steps below:

You can replace the batteries on your thermostat to control your system (and stay comfortable) while you check the C wire.
After you put in fresh batteries, check out this guide to learn how to fix or connect a C wire for additional troubleshooting help.

@Lance_L Thank you for the reply. My neighbor and my self both have installed the Nest Thermostat at the same time . Both houses have same structure and capacity but he never faced any issue with the Thermostat .

They never installed c-type to make it work, could you please let me know why this particular case ?

Thank you @justsam , even the batteries I got with the device got drained out in couple of days i thought the fault was with batteries .
