Hi vcho,

Thanks for checking with us the compatibility of your system to the Nest Thermostats. Your system is compatible with the Nest Learning Thermostat. Your L wire which is designated for indicator light on your old thermostat isn't necessary for Nest Thermostats, so you can just leave it disconnected.

Please let me know if you still have questions or concerns, as we'll be willing to help you further.

Best,

Hi there Neelmo,

It looks like you have a heat pump system. I'd like to take a closer look at it. A few questions: in what country are you located? What is the make and model of your heat pump system? Please take a photo of the wires connected to your system's control board. Ensure that the labels of the wires are visible.

Regards,

I'm in America. Model: American standard twe018c140b0. I photographed the wires that go to the thermostat. What other wires are needed?
I'll try to see what's inside. But I don't see any markings on the outside.

Let's go in order again. Here's the thermostat itself.

Fmerican standard twe018c140b0
I didn't see a board inside, just wires and a circuit. Photo below:

The pump you are talking about is probably Em.Ht. emergency heating system.

Hi folks,

@Neelmo, chiming in—your thermostat wires are fortunately compatible with Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd generation and should be wired to the Nest Learning Thermostat base as shown:

The F terminal from your previous thermostat is usually a heat-anticipator wire and will not be needed. The X2 terminal, on the other hand, is your emergency heat and should be connected to the Nest Learning Thermostat's * terminal. Also, here's a guide for the installation and setup of a Nest Learning Thermostat.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

I appreciate your help, Jenelyn.

Thanks,
