You have not stated if you have a 3rd gen thermostat, but here you will find all the wiring information for the 3rd.

Yes I have a 3rd gen but my boiler wiring is complicated

I cannot see the complication in your pictures, as you have the stat connection and the boiler feed! I assume you have a standard 240v thermostat on the wall at present, shown by the black core at the boiler.

Which part of the install are you saying is complicated?

I want to connect it to opentherm but there is 1 wire .

OK, and where does that one wire go, I assume you mean the black wire in the stat/timer connection?

That's good, and don't forget to put the link back in the stat connections at the boiler end.

Hi @Chana_Ka from the sounds of things you have sussed how to connect the heatlink to the boiler using OpenTherm :). I'll be curious to hear how things work out for you in terms of the control of the boiler firing. I've recently fitted a Nest Gen3 to an Ideal boiler and I'm finding the boiler is short cycling when the room temperature is close to the set temperature on the stat. The boiler isn't able to rate down enough. I'm not sure how much info you can see on your boiler display but usually there is something to indicate if the burner is lit and you can usually hear the firing / going out cycle. Any way I'm trying to get more feedback for what I think is a needed added feature. Be keen to see how things are going.
