topic Schedule issue in Nest Thermostats

Our local utility company charges extra for power used during peak hours. In the winter that is 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. I would prefer my heat not run during those hours. I have set a schedule that supposedly lowers temp at night and then raises it at 9 a.m. but the heat kicks on earlier and not consistently earlier. Is there a way to accommodate those hours without having to manually turn the thermostat off?

Hello Lizzieherman,

Thank you for reaching out with your concern regarding the peak-hour charges imposed by the local utility company. Managing your Nest Thermostat efficiently to avoid unnecessary costs is a wise decision.

To address your issue with the heat kicking on earlier than scheduled during peak hours, you may want to check a few settings on your Nest thermostat:

Double-check your schedule to ensure that the settings are accurately reflecting your desired temperature adjustments. Make sure that there are no overlapping or conflicting entries that might be causing the heat to turn on earlier.

Turn off the Auto-schedule and Home/Away Assist. As it might be trying to adapt to your routine and strictly rely on the schedule you've set.

I hope this helps in resolving the issue, and feel free to reach out if you have any more questions.

Best,
Mark
