House temperature dropped. Kept restarting furnace "start" sequence. Nest thermostat complaining about low battery. Bypassed thermostat wiring and furnace runs perfectly. Charged thermostat using micro USB and returned to base. No more battery complaint but still fails to achieve furnace ignition.

Hello folks,

It sounds like you've been through quite a troubleshooting journey with your thermostat and furnace. It's great that you were able to address the low battery issue by charging the thermostat and returning it to the base. However, the furnace ignition problem persists.

Considering that your thermostats have been working fine for a year, there might be a few possibilities for the sudden issue. Here are a few things you might want to check out:

Confirm that the thermostat is receiving a stable power supply. Check the wiring and connections to ensure there are no loose or damaged wires.

Verify that the thermostat is set to the desired temperature and mode (heating). It might be worth trying a few degrees higher than the current room temperature to see if the furnace kicks in.

Ensure that there are no issues with the furnace itself. Check the pilot light, gas supply, and other components to rule out any problems on the furnace side.

Try resetting the thermostat to its factory settings. This can sometimes resolve glitches or software issues.

Gather the power readouts in the Technical Info settings.

Let us know how it goes.

Best regards,
Mark
