Nest Heating and Cooling At the same time??

I installed a Nest Thermostat base model to this unit. I can get the AC to work fine, but when I turn on the heat both the A/C compressor outside and the heater inside turn on and run at the same time? I just swapped the wires as they were on the old thermostat during install of the Nest. What could I be doing wrong? It's an electric unit. Thanks

Uh-oh! I'm sorry to hear that your cool and heat works at the same time. What type of Nest Thermostat do you have? What is the make and model of your HVAC system? And could you send us a wiring photo of your previous thermostat and a photo of how you connected the wires to the Nest Thermostat base so I can take a closer look? Yo may also follow the steps here in the troubleshoot strange heating or cooling behavior for a fix.
