Hello RPL1,

It looks like you're on the right track with your assumption. In a conventional heating system, the wire labeled 'W/B' on your thermostat, which corresponds to the W/B heating terminal, should indeed connect to the 'W' terminal on the Nest Thermostat. The 'W' terminal is commonly used for heating control in Nest Thermostats for conventional systems.

However, it's always a good idea to double-check the HVAC system control board to ensure compatibility and get precise instructions. Additionally, if you're unsure or encounter any difficulties during the installation process, share with us a photo of your old thermostat's wiring setup and the make and model of your system. Also, from what country are you posting?

I'll look forward to your response.

Best regards,
Mark

I want to replace a Hunter 44360 with a nest. One of the wires goes to a connection labeled 'W/B' on the Hunter 44360. The Hunter thermostat manual says if the wire is marked W/H/B then it was to go to the W/B heating terminal. This is a conventional system (not a heat pump). My assumption is that the wire labeled 'W/B' will go to the 'W' terminal on the nest. Is this correct?
