Hello marineaudeng,

I'm sorry to hear about the ongoing challenges you're facing with your Nest Thermostat. It sounds like you've been diligently troubleshooting the issue by reseating the wires, but the problem persists. Dealing with wiring concerns can indeed be frustrating.

Given the symptoms you've described, it's possible that there might be an issue with the cable grippers inside the base plate, as you suspect. These grippers are crucial for maintaining a secure connection and ensuring proper functionality.

To isolate:

Examine the cable grippers closely for any signs of damage or irregularities. Make sure there are no loose components or debris affecting their performance.

Share with us a photo of your thermostat's base.

Does your thermostat tell you which terminal or wiring report is showing undetected?

Let us know how it goes.

Best regards,
Mark

System can’t keep sensing the wires that are obviously inserted deeply. Reseat left side wires and power becomes no longer sensed, reseat power and left side becomes no longer sensed. Constantly fighting this base plate, I believe its cables grippers inside it are faulty.
